Dr. Nova Ahmad

Pediatric Dentist
Hi, I’m Dr. Nova Ahmad, a board-certified pediatric dentist dedicated to providing exceptional dental care for children. I earned my Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University, followed by an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency with NYU Langone. My passion for pediatric dentistry led me to complete a two-year pediatric residency with NYU Langone in Tampa, Florida, where I gained extensive training in treating children of all ages, including those with special healthcare needs. With years of experience in private practice, I focus on creating a fun, welcoming environment that helps kids feel at ease while receiving the best dental care. I’m committed to continuing education and staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in pediatric dentistry to ensure my patients receive the highest level of care. Outside of dentistry, I enjoy traveling, attending concerts, exploring new restaurants, and hiking. I believe that building trust and strong relationships with my patients and their families is just as important as providing excellent dental treatment.
Professional Background

My journey in dentistry began at Nova Southeastern University, where I earned my Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree. I then completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency with NYU Langone, gaining experience in comprehensive dental care. My dedication to pediatric dentistry led me to pursue a two-year pediatric residency with NYU Langone in Tampa, Florida, where I received advanced training in behavior management, sedation dentistry, and treating children with special healthcare needs. After residency, I worked in private practice for four years in Florida, providing specialized pediatric dental care before relocating to Arizona. I stay actively involved in continuing education, attending trainings and workshops to stay at the forefront of pediatric dentistry. My goal is to create a fun, comfortable, and stress-free experience for every child while delivering the highest standard of care.

My Personalized Approach
As a pediatric dentist, I understand that visiting the dentist can be a big experience for both kids and parents. My goal is to create a warm, welcoming, and fun environment where children feel safe, comfortable, and even excited about their dental visits. I take a gentle and patient approach, always ensuring that both kids and parents feel informed and at ease. Having worked with children of all backgrounds, including those with special healthcare needs, I believe in personalized care that meets each child where they are. Whether it’s a toddler’s first dental visit or a nervous little one who needs extra reassurance, I’m here to make their experience as positive and stress-free as possible.

How We Make Patients Uneasy Feel Comfortable
I get it—going to the dentist isn’t every kid’s favorite thing, and as a parent, it’s tough to watch your child feel nervous. My goal is to make every visit as easy, comfortable, and even fun as possible! For kids who are anxious, I take things slow and explain everything in a way they can understand. I use a “tell-show-do” approach, so nothing feels scary or unexpected. I also make sure to meet kids where they are—some just need a little distraction, while others need extra time to feel comfortable. And that’s okay! For parents, I want you to know that I will always treat your child with patience, kindness, and understanding. If your child has had a tough dental experience before or struggles with anxiety, you’re not alone, and I’m here to help. We have options like sedation if needed, but most of the time, it’s all about building trust and making the experience a positive one. At the end of the day, I want your child to feel safe, confident, and proud of themselves after their visit. My goal is for your little one to leave with a smile on their face and the confidence that going to the dentist can be a fun and comfortable experience!
